John Legend has some new music on the way — and it’s going to sound a bit different.
On Sept. 8, the singer-songwriter, 47, announced Muse, his upcoming studio album in which he’s sought out “fresh and new” sonics, he said in a press release. Legend’s album is produced and co-written by his longtime friend and fellow musician Pharrell Williams, marking the pair’s first collaboration together.
“The album is the first project the two have undertaken together in more than two decades of friendship — a cinematic, lush body of work that weaves together the strands of Black music, from gospel and the standards to doo-wop, classic soul, Afrobeat and hip-hop,” a description for the album reads.
In the album’s lineup of 16 songs, Williams features on six tracks: “Muse,” “Her,” “Get Back,” “Are You OK,” “Next Time” and “Fireflies.” The track list also includes “Pray for Ya,” “Her Introduction,” “Daylight,” “Under the Bridge Introduction,” “Under the Bridge,” “Bodies on the Floor - Taps Introduction,” “Bodies on the Floor (ft. Clipse),” “Doing Me,” “Everything” and “Sail Off.”
